“Disappeared” two years ago because of the pandemic, the Geneva Motor Show , considered one of the most important motor shows worldwide, refuses to “die” and promises to return in 2022.

Scheduled for the days February 19th to 27th, 2022 , the 91st edition of the Geneva Motor Show has now opened entries for manufacturers wishing to return to the biggest automotive stage in Europe.

With registration open until mid-July, the organizers of the 2022 Geneva Motor Show promise an event that will be “an evolution and substantially different from the past”.

About the 2022 edition of the Geneva Motor Show, Sandro Mesquita, CEO of GIMS (the entity responsible for organizing the event) said:

"With the opening of registration, we are officially starting the organization of the 2022 Geneva Motor Show".

As for what builders and the public can expect from this 91st edition of the show, Sandro Mesquita kept his secrecy, saying only “My team and I can't wait to present our concept to the builders and later to the public”.

Finally, the executive director of the GIMS did not fail to recall that the return of the Geneva Salon is dependent on the evolution of the pandemic, declaring “we hope that the public health situation and the corresponding policies adopted will allow us to bring the hall back”.

what was to be

If you remember, this year's edition of the Geneva Motor Show was supposed to have been very different from what the Swiss event has accustomed us to.

The idea was to create an exclusive event for journalists lasting just three days instead of the usual 15 days. Even in 2020, before being canceled at the last minute, it was supposed to have seen the introduction of some new features, such as the presence of spaces for test drives.

We will have to wait for 2022 to see this reinvented Geneva Motor Show “live and in colour”, because here at Razão Automóvel, we already miss the “Geneva air”.
