Toyota GR Supra debuted in Geneva, but it's sold out…

At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, not only did we see the debut of the fifth generation Supra (A90) on European soil, but Toyota also unveiled a prototype that anticipates the return of the mythical sports car to the tracks, the Toyota GR Supra GT4 Concept.

Destined to compete in the GT4 class (hence the name), the Toyota GR Supra GT4 Concept stands out for its deeply revised aerodynamics, as well as for its chassis composed of specific elements for competition (springs, shock absorbers and stabilizer bars).

Under the hood there is the 3.0 l turbo in-line six-cylinder that equips the series model — albeit with differences in terms of management — as well as the automatic transmission.

Sold out for 2019

However, when it comes to news about the new Toyota GR Supra, the one that stood out was its availability — even though it is now arriving in Europe, you will not be able to buy one this year, because the units that were allocated to the European continent already all have owners.

In total, 900 units of the Toyota GR Supra were destined for the European continent — 90 of which belong to the special edition A90 Edition — but the interest generated far exceeded the offer. Toyota says that the waiting list already amounts to a few thousand reservations, but the brand informs that reservations for 2020 will be reopened soon.

I would like to thank the first 900 customers for their reservations by securing their priority access to the new Toyota GR Supra in anticipation of its official European debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. As Chief Engineer, I look forward to the moment when they get behind the wheel , because I believe that we will be able to re-ignite passion and put fun back into driving for as many people as possible.
