After an extensive teaser campaign, we finally meet at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show with the new Skoda Kamiq , the smallest SUV of the Czech brand. And as you'll see, it's not that small.
Not only is it bigger than the “brothers” Arona and T-Cross, it's also longer than the Volkswagen T-Roc, for example. It's no wonder that Skoda announces benchmark housing quotas for the segment, something common in the brand's history.
On the outside, the family look is obvious, taking inspiration from the biggest Karoq and Kodiaq, but the new Skoda Kamiq still has its own identity. This is visible, above all, in the split solution for the front optics, which separates the DRL or daytime running lights (placed above) from the low and high beam (placed below the DRL)

The interior, on the other hand, is modeled on the brand's other new model present in Geneva, the Skoda Scala . However, this new interior distances itself from the rest of Skoda, with the repositioning of some elements — ventilation outlets and infotainment system — and a greater predominance of horizontal lines.
As a Skoda, we observe a logical layout of the controls, foreseeing ease of use, including the infotainment system — there are three options, consisting of 6.5″, 8″ and 9.2″ touchscreens. As with the Scala, the Kamiq may also have a 100% digital instrument panel, consisting of a 10.25″ screen.

The new “baby-SUV” from Skoda also shares with the Scala the engines: three petrol, one diesel and one natural gas . These include the 1.0 TSI with two power stages, the 1.5 TSI (with cylinder deactivation), the 1.6 TDI, and finally, a variant of the 1.0 TSI running on natural gas.
