508 Peugeot Sport Engineered, the future of Peugeot sports cars went to Geneva

Anonim

We had already had early access to the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered , on the occasion of the test for the seven finalists of the Car of the Year, where Francisco Mota was able to see him “live and in color”. We met him at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in his official public presentation.

The 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered is an evolution of the 508 HYbrid and compared to its “brother”, it comes with more power, all-wheel drive and a more sporty and aggressive look.

In terms of aesthetics, the biggest highlights are the greater width (24 mm more at the front and 12 mm at the rear), the lowered suspension, the larger wheels and brakes, the new grille, the extractor in the rear bumper and even the fiberglass mirrors of carbon.

Combined power and economy

Equipping the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered we find a 200 hp version of the 1.6 PureTech engine which is associated with a 110 hp electric front and another with 200 hp at the rear wheels.

This allows the Peugeot prototype to have all-wheel drive and offer the “equivalent to 400 hp in a combustion car” — however, the final power should be situated at 350 hp.

The interior has applications in Alcantara, carbon fiber and sports seats.

CO2 emissions, on the other hand, stand at 49 g/km thanks to the hybrid system powered by a 11.8 kWh battery which also offers autonomy in electric mode, reaching 50 km.

As for performance, Peugeot announces a time from 0 to 100 km/h of just 4.3s and a maximum speed limited to 250 km/h.
