Cold Start. The Galician city of Pontevedra will impose limits of 6 km/h

Anonim

Giving priority and more security to the pawn seems to be the reason for the decision to reduce the speed limit just 6 km/h in the Galician city of Pontevedra. Very low limit that will be imposed in specific zones that will have their own signage.

The 6 km/h limit will be for all types of vehicles, with or without an engine: cars, motorcycles, bicycles, scooters, etc. The exception will only be given to people with reduced mobility who travel in a wheelchair (electric) or in a specific vehicle. Failure to comply will result in fines ranging from 200 to 500 euros.

Why only 6 km/h? It is more or less the speed at which we move when walking, so vehicles will move at the speed of pedestrians. And it also justifies the decision of bicycles and other vehicles for personal mobility to compulsorily circulate on the road, leaving the sidewalk.

Low limits are nothing new in Pontevedra. There were already zones limited to 10 km/h, which caused a lot of controversy.

A question immediately arises as to how such a low limit will be controlled, not only by the authorities, but also by those who are in charge of the vehicles.
