Electric and designed for cities, it was difficult to Renault Twizy to be further away from the Formula 1 universe. Still, in 2013, this did not stop Renault from creating a prototype that combines the genes of the small quadricycle and the French brand's competition pedigree.
The result was the Renault Twizy RS F1 (Twizy Renault Sport F1 Concept was its full name), a prototype inspired by the world of Formula 1 that did not even lack the KERS energy recovery system identical to the one used by the single-seaters of the premier-class of the motorsport.
With Formula 1 tires and aerodynamic appendages, the little Twizy RS F1 had… 98 hp (the original offers 17 hp) and was capable of reaching a top speed of 109 km/h, accelerating, according to Renault, up to 100 km /h as fast as the contemporary Megane RS.
