Covid-19 influenced the purchasing and mobility habits of the Portuguese. 89% of Portuguese people are more likely to drive their own car than to use public transport and 20% of drivers now consider purchasing a vehicle entirely online.

These are the main findings of the Covid-19 Mobility Survey carried out by CarNext.com, the European online used car market.

Safety concerns are fundamental for Portuguese drivers.

  • 89% of people surveyed assumed they were more likely to drive a private car rather than using public transport;
  • 64% of respondents say they feel “insecure” in using carsharing solutions;
  • 62% of Portuguese say they have already considered driving instead of flying on their next vacation;
  • 20% of Portuguese say that purchasing a vehicle online is more likely now than before the pandemic caused by the new Coronavirus (COVID-19);
  • Also in the field of online shopping, 29% of Portuguese say they would be more willing to buy a car online if home delivery were available, 57% if a money-back guarantee were offered and 68% if a complete maintenance and service history were provided. mechanical checks.
