Cold Start. Bees, the other "bet" by Lamborghini

Anonim

After some time we have realized the "bet" of Bentley on bees, behold, another brand emerges as "protector" of these nice (and important) insects: the Lamborghini.

Since 2016, under a biomonitoring project, the Italian manufacturer has had beehives in its facilities. Initially there were only eight but now there are 12 hives in the parking lot of the Sant ’Agata Bolognese factory, housing 600,000 bees.

The aim of this study is to observe the behavior of bees, honey and wax to understand how the environment influences these animals. To understand the behavior of bees, Lamborghini uses Audi Foundation cameras placed at the foot of the hives.

Lamborghini Bees

The study is carried out in partnership between Lamborghini, entomologists (scientists who study insects) and beekeepers. Thanks to the study, measures have already been taken to improve the environment around the Lamborghini factory.

As for the future, the next step is to study solitary bees (which do not stray as far from the hives) in order to help identify the environmental pollutants closest to the factory.
