End of the line for Lancia.

Lancia has just ceased operations in several European markets. For now, the bet on the Italian market remains.

Since Sergio Marchionne, CEO of FCA Group, announced the end of the iconic Italian brand in all markets (except Italy) in 2014, Lancia has remained in a process of slow death. A process that has recently seen a new chapter.

Several brand websites across Europe – including the Portuguese one – have been deactivated over the past few weeks and refer only to after-sales services and to the other brands of the group through the following message:

Although (yet) an official statement has not been released, Lancia maintains the sale of the Ypsilon utility only on the Italian market, where the official website remains active for now – it remains to be seen for how long.

Despite rumors of interest from other groups in the brand, Marchionne has ruled out the chance of selling Lancia, preferring to leave the brand's future on stand-by. Confirming the disappearance of the brand, behind is a legacy full of achievements in motor sport and the characteristic and timeless design of a brand that for years enjoyed enormous prestige worldwide.
