More than 7 years have passed since the introduction of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. According to the FCA Group's plan, unveiled last year, Alfa Romeo's strategy was to reinforce its presence in the C-segment by 2020 with two new models: the successor to the Giulietta and a crossover positioned below the Stelvio.

Since then, with the launch of the Giulia and Stelvio, Alfa Romeo seems to have “forgotten” the traditional family models. So much so that the successor of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta risks being “crossed out” from the brand's plans.

The latest statements by Alfa Romeo's new CEO, Reid Bigland, had already hinted that the brand's focus has shifted since the plan was introduced in 2014. The brand's current focus is on global models (read SUV's ) and upper segments. However, that did not stop various rumors about the new generation of the Giulietta to continue to circulate, namely the fact that it could use the platform of the new Giulia.
