As has been made known recently, Jaguar has now made available a new engine in the F-PACE, XE and XF. It is the new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder Ingenium engine with 300 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque available between 1500 and 4500 rpm.
The British brand has just released the prices of the different models and versions that will come equipped with this engine. Contrary to what we previously disclosed, and according to the price list provided, for Portugal this new engine will only be associated with versions with four-wheel drive. In other markets it is possible to associate this engine with two-wheel drive versions, both in XE and XF.
Common to all is the eight-speed automatic transmission. Interestingly, the more powerful Jaguar XE and XF – with the 3.0 V6 at 380 horsepower – can only come with rear-wheel drive. Strange, but maliciously appealing...
Returning to the 300 horsepower Ingenium, when placed in the F-PACE, it allows you to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds, with an average consumption of 7.7 l/100 km. On the XF, it takes 5.8 seconds for the same type of acceleration, and consumes a little less – 7.2 l/100 km and emissions of 163 g CO2/km. The XE, as the smallest and lightest of the three, is the fastest and most economical: 5.5 seconds from 0-100 km/h, 6.9 l/100 km and 157 g CO2/km.
