Nissan has just introduced the latest addition to the Nismo family, based on our well-known… Patrol.
Away from the Portuguese market for many years, the Nissan Patrol continues to sell — and well! — in some markets in the Middle East, where he maintains a huge legion of fans. Now, about two years after the last facelift, the more radical version of the model arrives, the Nissan Patrol Nismo.
The presentation of Patrol Nismo took place at an online event at Expo 2020 Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, a region of the globe where the entire Japanese terrain has been shining for several years.
It is therefore no surprise that the Nissan Patrol Nismo “winks the eye” only to Middle Eastern markets.
This is the most powerful version of the Patrol range and the “nickname” Nismo doesn't appear here by chance. It was precisely Nissan's sports division that took care of all the dynamic tuning of this “mastodon”, which adopted, among other things, new Bilstein shock absorbers with sportier adjustment, guaranteeing greater control.
On a mechanical level, we find the same large atmospheric 5.6 liter V8 engine that we already found in the old version of the Patrol Nismo, here with 434 hp of power and 565 Nm of maximum torque.
Image that does not go unnoticed
To match all this mechanical power, the Japanese brand also proposes a distinct style, capable of turning heads on the streets it passes through. Highlights include the more prominent bumpers with larger air intakes, the grilles with a black finish and, of course, several elements in red that are already something of a Nismo signature.
At the back, the huge air diffuser, the two exhaust pipes with a chrome frame and the spoiler that help to extend the roofline of this all terrain, which “pants” impressive 22” wheels — “ footwear” which is perhaps not the most suitable for off-road adventures.
Inside the cabin, a “special treatment” based on carbon fiber and Alcantara, two screens in the center console, a digital instrument panel, Bose sound system with 13 speakers and smartphone integration through the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems.
The new Nissan Patrol Nismo can now be ordered, but only in specific markets in the Middle East.
