What do you need to know?

For a start, in aesthetic terms the only differences are small decorative elements such as the grid with blue details, some logos and the blue stripe that extends across the side. Inside, the infotainment system appears on a 7” screen and allows, for example, to locate charging stations and see the range of batteries.

There is also an app that allows you to export trip data to the infotainment system, schedule reloads and provide us with data about the car. As for space, this remained unchanged thanks to the fact that the Twingo Z.E. have been developed with an electric version in mind.

Speaking of the platform, despite sharing it with the Smart EQ forfour, the Twingo Z.E. did not adopt the same batteries. Therefore, it uses a pack with 22 kWh of capacity (instead of the 17.6 kWh of Smart) cooled by water and which allows it to travel up to 250 km in urban circuit and 180 km in mixed circuit, according to the WLTP cycle .

This battery pack powers a motor with 82 hp and 160 Nm derived from the one used by Zoe and which allows the Twingo Z.E. reach 135 km/h maximum speed (electronically limited) and reach 0 to 50 km/h in 4.2s.

As for charging, and as Guilherme tells us in the video, in just 30 minutes we were able to replace 80% of the battery in a 22 kW charger.

In a 22kW quick charger, the batteries recharge in 1h3min. In a 7.4 kW Wallbox this time goes up to four hours, in a 3.7 kW wallbox to eight hours and in a 2.4 kW domestic outlet it is fixed at about 13 hours.

When arrives?

As we've already told you, the new Renault Twingo Z.E. should arrive at the end of the year. Although not yet revealed how much is that the Twingo Z.E. will cost, Renault claims it will be substantially cheaper than its “older brother”, the Zoe.
