Collection or obsession? This man is 17 (!) Volkswagen Golf

Anonim

With 17 Volkswagen models, Steve Smith's collection may be much smaller than that of Josef Juza, the chimney sweep that has 114 Volkswagen Golfs in its garage, however, it is no less interesting for that.

His story came to us through a video on the Deutsche Auto Parts YouTube channel and it's not hard to see that in addition to being a Volkswagen fan Steve Smith has a “soft spot” for the Golf.

As you can see in the video, its collection includes models such as the special Volkswagen Golf Rallye Mk2 of which only around 5000 units were produced, the Golf Cabrio Mk3, the Golf GTI Mk2 among other Golf transformed by you and others destined to “donate” parts.

Meanwhile Steve had to emigrate to the US and there he quickly bought a Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk2. After having destroyed the front of his GTI in a track day, it ended up being the “trigger” for the beginning of this collection/obsession. He started by buying parts not only to repair it but also to store them in case of need. Hence buying other Golf Mk2 — the generation from which it purchased the most models — was an instant.

As for the rest… it's history and you can learn about it in the video we leave you here, where Steve Smith also gives us a more detailed look at some of the 17 Volkswagen Golfs he owns:
