For the first time in Portugal, what was the fourth stage of the FIA Electric and Alternative Energy World Championship, dictated the victory of the duo Eneko Conde, as pilot, and Marcos Domingo, as navigator.
Working for the debuting team AG Parayas Nissan #ecoteam and behind the wheel of a Nissan Leaf 2.Zero, the Spanish team completed the two stages of the race, with nine specials and a total of 371.95 km, 139.28 of which timed, with only 529 penalty points — against 661 points for the runner-up.
“We are delighted to have won,” said AG Parayas Nissan #ecoteam driver Eneko Conde. Adding that “it was a result that we did not expect, taking into account the high quality of the drivers and vehicles that participated in this first Portugal EcoRally. Fortunately, the Nissan Leaf 2.Zero has once again shown its full potential, along several stages that go down in rally history”.
Nissan Iberia's communications director, Corberó, assumed that "we couldn't wish for a better international debut for Nissan #ecoteam, with the new Nissan Leaf 2.Zero."

Zero Emissions Championship since 2007
Championship dedicated exclusively to non-polluting vehicles powered by alternative energies, such as electricity, and which until 2016 was called the FIA Cup of Alternative Energies, the World Electric and New Energies Championship has, this year 2018, a total of 11 stages in 11 countries, carried out, in their entirety, on European soil.
With races on circuits, ramps and rallies, this world championship, organized by the International Automobile Federation (FIA), is divided into three classes: the Regularity Cup for Electric Vehicles, the Solar Cup for solar powered vehicles and the E -Karting, or, to put it another way, the championship for electric karts.

Started in 2007, the FIA Electric and Alternative Energy World Championship had as the last champions, in 2017, the Italian duo Walter Kofler/Guido Guerrini, in Tesla.
