With 2.3 million units sold over three generations, the SEAT Leon sees it reach its fourth generation with renewed ambitions.
Unveiled about three months ago, the fourth generation of the Spanish compact has now arrived on the national market. Sales will start on May 21st.
For now, the Leon is only available in the five-door bodywork — the van will arrive next September. In total, you will have four equipment levels: Reference, Style, XCellence and FR.
The Leon range in Portugal
As far as engines are concerned, the new SEAT Leon has two petrol engines and one diesel.
The gasoline offer starts with the 1.0 TSI of 110 hp with six-speed manual transmission. Above this we find the 1.5 TSI in two variants, with 130 and 150 hp.

In the 130 hp version this is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. In the 150 hp version, the 1.5 TSI can be combined with a manual or automatic seven-speed DSG gearbox. When equipped with an automatic transmission, the 1.5 TSI becomes 1.5 eTSI as it is exclusively equipped with a mild-hybrid system.
Finally, the Diesel offer is based on 2.0 TDI, also in two variants, with 115 hp or 150 hp . In the 115 hp variant this is associated only with the six-speed manual transmission and in the 150 hp only with the seven-speed DSG gearbox.
The range of engines will not stop there and will be expanded at a later stage.
1.0 eTSI will be added, the mild-hybrid version of the 110 hp 1.0 TSI associated with DSG transmission; the eHybrid (plug-in hybrid), which combines the 1.4 TSI with an electric motor, guaranteeing 204 hp of maximum combined power and 60 km of electric autonomy (provisional value); and finally the 1.5 TGI with 130 hp, the CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) version, associated with DSG transmission.
