THE Ford Mondeo says goodbye to the gasoline-only engines, which is now only available with hybrid and Diesel engines (2.0 EcoBlue).

The decision comes after Ford found that the hybrid variant of the Mondeo corresponded to 1/3 of the model's sales in Europe in the first seven months of 2020, a 25% increase in the share of this version in the Mondeo range compared to the same period. in 2019.

However, given the success that the hybrid version has known, Ford simply decided to withdraw from the Mondeo range the versions exclusively equipped with gasoline engines.

Available in van format and even with ST-Line versions, the Ford Mondeo Hybrid has a 2.0 l gasoline engine (which works according to the Atkinson cycle) and offers 140 hp and 173 Nm.

To this is added an electric motor with 120 hp and 240 Nm powered by a small lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.4 kWh. The end result is 186 hp of maximum combined power and 300 Nm of maximum combined torque.
