After 1 and 2 comes 3 and it is precisely this model that Polestar anticipated with a new teaser. Third model in the history of the young Scandinavian brand, it is now confirmed that the Polestar 3 it's going to be a 100% electric SUV with a focus on performance.

The production of the new Polestar SUV will take place in the USA, in a factory in the State of South Carolina, more precisely in Ridgeville, where the Volvo S60 and XC90 are already produced.

Several factors are based on the decision to produce Polestar 3 in the US, from taking into account that it will be one of its main markets, as well as being one of the regions where more electrics are sold.

About this bet, Polestar's COO, Dennis Nobelius, said: “Production in the US makes the acquisition more efficient, reduces delivery times and will have a positive impact on the Polestar 3 price (…) All this makes the brand even more competitive in a market as important as the North American”.

Polestar Precept
Apparently the Polestar 3 should inspire its lines in the Precept prototype.

What to expect from Polestar 3

According to Polestar's CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, the new SUV will inaugurate the brand's new design language, so it should have a style inspired by the Precept prototype unveiled last year, which should also give rise to a model of the Swedish brand.

With production expected to start in 2022, Polestar 3 will use Geely's dedicated platform for SEA electric vehicles, which until now has only been used by the Chinese model Zeekr 001, a shooting brake with a battery of 100 kWh, two electric motors and 544 hp, and an announced range of 700 km.

At the moment we don't know if the numbers of this SUV will be the same as those of the Zeekr 001.
