The first exclusive model of the young Spanish brand, the CUPRA Formentor, can now be ordered in Portugal.
Inserted in a segment (CUV) that CUPRA predicts will reach around 500 thousand units by 2028, the Formentor has a wide range of engines, seven in total: two plug-in hybrids, one diesel and four exclusively gasoline.
Starting with the lone Diesel, this consists of the 2.0 TDI with 150 hp, available with a DSG box or manual. The plug-in hybrid offer is divided between the Formentor VZ e-Hybrid with 245 hp and 400 Nm of combined power and the Formentor e-Hybrid with 204 hp and 350 Nm.
Finally, the gasoline offer starts with a 150 hp 1.5 TSI with DSG gearbox or manual gearbox. Above this we find the 2.0 TSI with 190 hp, DSG box and 4Drive traction system, the Formentor VZ 2.0 TSI 245 hp with DSG box and to top the range, the CUPRA Formentor VZ 2.0 TSI with 310 hp, DSG box and 4Drive system.
It's a CUV, not an SUV
An SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) is traditionally a car with a more generous height and dimensions, and with superior off-road and towing capabilities than a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle).As a CUV, the CUPRA Formentor is shorter and has a more compact overall dimensions, yet maintains sufficient ground clearance for light off-road adventures.
And the prices?
Orders are open and the delivery of the first units should take place at the end of November.

The first CUPRA Formentor to hit the market will be the most powerful of them all, the 310 hp VZ 2.0 TSI DSG 4Drive, with prices starting at 47,030 euros. At the other extreme is the 150 hp 1.5 TSI, which will have a price starting at the 31 900 euros.
As for the remaining versions, prices still need to be confirmed. However, CUPRA advances with price forecasts around the 34 thousand euros for the Formentor equipped with the 150 hp 2.0 TDI engine, the 245 hp plug-in hybrid version should stay under 40 thousand euros . The price of the remaining engines is not yet known.
