Mercedes-Benz EQC. Rival of e-tron and i-Pace sees the light of day in Paris

After presenting the EQC sub-brand at the Paris show in 2016, with the presentation of a concept, Mercedes-Benz chose the same stage to unveil the production version of the first model of the new 100% electric brand, the Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 4MATIC , an SUV that the manufacturer positions between the SUV and the SUV “Coupé”.

Thanks to two electric motors placed on the front and rear axles, the EQC thus has all-wheel drive.

The EQC has five driving modes: Comfort, Eco, Max Range, Sport, plus an individually adaptable program. The Eco Assist system is also available, which offers various aids to the driver, such as signal recognition, information from intelligent security assistants, such as radar and camera, among others.

Two engines, 408 hp

The pair of electric motors guarantee the EQC 300 kW of power or 408 hp, and 765 Nm of torque that allow it to meet 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1s and drive the SUV up to 180 km/h (electronically limited top speed ).

To power both engines, the Mercedes-Benz EQC has an 80 kWh lithium-ion battery. According to the German brand this should be enough for a range of "more than 450 km", but these data are provisional (and, incomprehensibly, still according to the NEDC cycle). According to these same data, it will be possible to charge the battery up to 80% charge in 40 minutes, but for that a socket with a maximum power of up to 110 kW is needed in an appropriate charging station.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC will only start marketing in 2019.
