Skoda Kodiaq RS arrives in Paris with record in "green hell"

After becoming the fastest seven-seater SUV on the Nürburgring (with a time of 9min29.84sec), the Skoda Kodiaq RS was shown to the public at the Paris salon.

With the most powerful diesel engine in Skoda's history, the new Kodiaq RS is the first SUV of the Czech brand to receive the acronym that is synonymous with more performance.

Of course, the engine that powers the Kodiaq RS belongs to the Volkswagen group organ bank. The Skoda Kodiaq RS has the 2.0 biturbo under the bonnet that we also find on the Passat and Tiguan.

Power is not enough to break records

By using the 2.0 biturbo, the Kodiaq now has 240 hp and an estimated torque of 500 Nm (no official data yet but it is estimated that it is close to the value presented by the “cousins” Passat and Tiguan with the same engine) that allow you to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7s and reach a maximum speed of 220 km/h.

In addition to a new engine, the RS “treatment” given to the Kodiaq also brought all-wheel drive, chassis dynamic control (Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC)) and progressive steering. In addition to the mechanical changes the Czech SUV received a number of new equipment and visual touches to give it a sporty look.

And if you're one of those people who don't like to hear the rattle of a Diesel in a sports car, Skoda thought of you. The Kodiaq RS comes equipped as standard with the Dynamic Sound Boost system which, according to the brand, improves the sound of the engine and accentuates it.
