As much loved as the LMP1 were, their high development costs ended up making them unaffordable (and uninteresting) for many brands. Aware of this, the FIA ​​decided to reinvent the “queen” category of endurance competitions and the result was the Hipercarros that a few months ago we were able to see live at 8 Horas de Portimão.

In total there are two ways to compete in the top category: developing a prototype based on LMH regulations or LMDh regulations. Regardless of the regulations chosen as the “base”, several brands have already decided to take advantage of this change in the rules.

In the LMH class we will have brands such as Toyota, Alpine, Peugeot and Ferrari, while LMDh regulations have “seduced” names such as Audi, Acura, BMW, Cadillac, Porsche and, it seems, even Lamborghini.
