Escape from images. This is the interior of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223)

Is it still the best car in the world? For many years, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class was the standard bearer not only for the German brand, but for the entire automotive industry. Each release of a new generation was, in itself, an event.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been the model that anticipated the trends and technologies of the “cars of the future”. That's why many gave it the status of "the best car in the world".

A status that in recent years has been called into question, not only by the usual competition — Audi and BMW — but also by newer brands such as Tesla. This new generation W223 therefore has a very important mission: claim the “aura” that the S-Class has been losing.

Revolution in the interior of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223)

Fewer buttons, more touch screens and controls. A trend that became more acute with Tesla and that Mercedes-Benz, due to the images that come to us through the publication Cochespias, wants to pursue with the new S-Class.

In these images we can see the future generation of the MBUX system, which is supported by the largest touchscreen in the history of the German brand.

The engine appears to be running and we can also see the “EQ” logo in the center of the instrument panel that Mercedes-Benz uses on all of its electrified models. However, the future S-Class W223 is not expected to have a 100% electrical variant, just plug-in hybrids. This role will fall to the unprecedented EQS, which we have already had a brief contact with, still as a prototype.

As for the steering wheel, there are also news. The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class will debut a new generation multi-function steering wheel with physical and haptic (touch-sensitive) buttons.

Speaking of steering wheel, this element starts to lose relevance. The new S-Class (W223) will debut a Tier 3 semi-autonomous driving system.

It is also worth mentioning the vertical air vents on the sides of the panel, already anticipated in 2019 by Vision EQS.

In the rear, you can expect what is usual for a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, lots of space, comfort and technology. Swipe the gallery:

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) will be launched in 2021 and for this reason the brand has been releasing information “little by little”. A pace that should increase after this escape of images.

The German brand will want to anticipate the presentation of the model to avoid further speculation. Leave us your opinion in the comments box.
