After being made known to the public at this year's Paris Salon, the Audi A1 Sportback is coming to the Portuguese market. In the launch phase, the smallest Audi only has one engine.
In this new generation, the Audi A1 Sportback uses the MQB A0 platform that is also the basis for the Volkswagen Polo and the SEAT Ibiza. Compared to its predecessor, the smallest Audi grew by around 56 mm (now measuring 4.03 m in length) but kept practically the same width (1.74 m) and height (1.41 m).
The Audi A1 Sportback will be available in Portugal in three styles to choose from — Basic, Advanced and S line. In terms of interior equipment, Audi will offer the A1 Sportback in Advanced, Design selection and S line levels.
The engines of the Audi A1 Sportback
In terms of engines the Audi A1 Sportback will initially be available only in the 30 TFSI version , which comes equipped with a 1.0 l three-cylinder engine with 116 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It can be combined with a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic (double clutch) S tronic.

With this engine, the A1 Sportback achieves 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4s and reaches 203 km/h of top speed. In terms of consumption, Audi announces consumption between 4.9 and 4.8 l/100km and emissions between 108 and 111 g/km.

And the equipment?
In terms of equipment, the Audi A1 Sportback features a digital instrument panel with a 10.25″ screen as standard (As an option you can have the Audi Virtual Cockpit), MMI Plus radio with a 8.8″ screen and capable of recognizing voice commands (the MMI Navigation Plus with a 10.1″ MMI touch screen is available as an option).
The Audi A1 Sportback also features Bluetooth connectivity and the Audi connect Emergency and Service system, which allows you to control some of the car's features via your smartphone, such as: locking and unlocking the doors, viewing the vehicle's status including maintenance indicators or your location and make emergency calls.
Audi also offers as standard in Portugal the central armrest, alloy wheels, leather-covered multifunction sports steering wheel and height-adjustable front seats.
The A1 Sportback can be optionally equipped with the Audi Virtual Cockpit.
Security in good plan
In addition to the speed limiter and unintentional lane departure warning, the Audi A1 Sportback also features the Audi pre sense front system as standard. The Audi pre sense automatic emergency braking system is also available.
The A1 Sportback can also have the Adaptive Speed Assist system with Stop & Go function. This uses a radar to maintain the distance to the vehicle immediately ahead and works between 30 km/h and 200 km/h.
Furthermore, in this new generation, the Audi A1 Sportback received, for the first time, a rear parking camera, which works in conjunction with the parking aid system. The driver just needs to shift gears and control the accelerator and brake as the car is capable of taking control of the steering, thanks to the support of sensors.
Prices
Initially, the Audi A1 Sportback will only be available in the 30 TFSI version. The remaining engines should arrive later, none of which will be Diesel.
