Audi updated plug-in hybrids A6 TFSIe quattro and A7 TFSIe quattro with a battery of greater capacity, reflecting a greater autonomy in electric mode.
The lithium-ion battery of both models went from 14.1 kWh to 17.9 kWh gross (14.4 kWh net) — the space it occupies has not changed — which translates into a greater electric autonomy of up to 73 km . The maximum charging power is 7.4 kW which allows charging the battery in two and a half hours.
There are two versions that will be available: 50 TFSIe and 55 TFSIe. Both combine the 2.0 TFSI gasoline engine of 265 hp and 370 Nm, with an electric motor of 143 hp and 350 Nm, always with four-wheel (quattro) transmission and always via the seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The combination of the two types of motors, however, results in different values of power and torque. The 50 TFSIe has a maximum combined power of 299 hp and a maximum combined torque of 450 Nm, while the 55 TFSIe rises to 367 hp and 550 Nm, respectively — a difference justified by the electronics…

In addition to the larger battery capacity, a new driving mode has been added that joins the “EV”, “Auto” and “Hold”. The new “Charge” mode allows the battery to be charged by the combustion engine while driving.
Tax proof
Both the Audi A6 TFSIe quattro and the Audi A7 TFSIe quattro advertise electric ranges in excess of 50 km and CO2 emissions of less than 50 g/km, bringing them into line with the latest tweaks in calculating the ISV (Vehicle Tax) for plug-in hybrid vehicles. They thus benefit from 75% support on the ISV.
For companies, Audi also announces that versions will be available with a price of less than 50 thousand euros (before taxes), which allows the deduction of VAT and a lower level in autonomous taxation.
How much?
The Audi A6 TFSIe quattro will be available as both Limousine (sedan) and Avant (van) and, together with the A7 TFSIe quattro, all will be available for pre-order from next March.
Prices start at €68,333 for the A6 Limousine and €70,658 for the A6 Avant. At the moment no prices have been advanced for the A7 TFSIe.
