Manufacturer of commercial vehicles, currently belonging to the Daimler universe, the Japanese FUSO also produces, in Portugal, the 100% electric version of its light goods truck, called the eCanter . It is also manufactured on the same assembly line as the more conventional version, Canter, and then exported to European and US markets.
However, after having already had the opportunity to test, together with the cities of Sintra and Porto in 2015, the Canter E-Cell test units in everyday situations, the Portuguese capital now receives the first ten units of the production version of this zero emission light goods truck.
With a load capacity of 7.5 tonnes, FUSO eCanter announces an autonomy of around 100 km, being used, in the municipality of Lisbon, mainly for gardening and garbage transport services.
With the entry into service in the Portuguese capital, FUSO eCanter has been circulating, since 2017, in Tokyo, New York, Berlin, London and Amsterdam, and now, also in the city of Lisbon.
However, despite being already integrated in the fleet of the Lisbon City Council, FUSO eCanter should only go on sale there towards the end of 2019, beginning of 2020.
