Like Bentley, MINI is also preparing to abandon combustion engines , having confirmed that its latest model with this type of engine arrives in 2025.

Apparently, the model in question will be the new generation of MINI. From then on, the British brand will only launch 100% electric models. The goal? Ensure that 50% of your sales in 2027 correspond to electric models.

Currently, MINI only sells a 100% electric model, the Cooper SE, but from 2023 it will be “companied” by an electric version of a new generation MINI Countryman.

MINI Countryman SE
In the next generation the MINI Countryman will feature a 100% electric version.

Also scheduled for 2023 is the arrival of an electric crossover produced in China and developed on the basis of a dedicated platform, the result of a joint venture with the Chinese from Great Wall.

MINI as “spearhead”

According to the BMW Group, MINI will play a “pioneer role” in the German group's electrification program.

According to the BMW Group “the urban brand is absolutely ideal for electric mobility”. In addition, the German group stated that MINI will continue to be a global brand, maintaining a presence in several markets, including those where combustion models can be sold after 2030.

Now it remains to be seen whether, in these markets, MINI will extend the “life” of its combustion engine models or whether it will only sell 100% electric models.
