After the A4 Avant and the A4 Limousine, it was the turn of the Audi Audi A4 Allroad quattro to appear at the Detroit Motor Show as the all-terrain member of the family.
The most rebellious member of the A4 family arrived in Detroit with the body raised high and with all the power that could be expected. With a ground clearance increased by 34 millimeters, it is possible, thanks to the standard quattro system, to continue along less civilized paths when the tar runs out.The Audi A4 Allroad quattro comes equipped with more prominent wheel arches and side guards, as well as “different” silver on the roof bars and Singleframe grille. At the front, cut-out headlamps and specific air intakes emphasize its outgoing character. Allroad initials are located on the front fenders and the tailgate. Standard wheels are 17-inch, with 19-inch options and the bumpers have been redesigned. To the whole design equation, Audi just added a new diffuser to the front grille.
In terms of powertrains, the Audi A4 Allroad quattro will be available with five diesel engines and a petrol version. Depending on the engine, the power can vary between 150 and 272 horsepower. The 6-speed manual transmission gives way to a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission system, or an eight-speed Tiptronic, depending on the engine.

The Audi Drive Select also arrived with an updated version, which adds the off-road mode to the remaining driving modes that already exist. We just have to choose one of the six – Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Individual, Efficiency and now Off-Road.
The front axle of the new Audi A4 allroad quattro features a redesigned five-arm suspension, replacing the previous trapezoidal geometry used in the rear suspension. Developers used an intelligent mix of materials that reduced the weight of the axle components by a total of 12 kg.
The new Audi A4 Allroad Quattro also comes with one of the driving assistance and family safety systems found in the rest of the range and also in the Audi Q7.
