As announced in a statement, Audi itself, in question are the models A5 Cabriolet, A5 Sedan and Q5, built between 2013 and 2017; A6, manufactured between 2012 and 2015; and A4 Sedan and A4 Allroad, produced between 2013 and 2016 and equipped with a 2.0 TFSI gasoline engine.
As for the problem itself, it resides in an electric cooling pump, which can overheat or short-circuit, causing a fire.
Although there are still no reported accidents or injuries resulting from this problem, Audi recognizes that debris from the cooling system could clog the pump, leading to its overheating.

Remember that this is not the first time that Audi has been grappling with a recall of this size. As early as January 2017, the Ingolstadt manufacturer was forced to summon the same models to the workshops as a way to update the software that ensures that the pump is disabled, in case it becomes blocked by debris from the cooling system.
