Audi RS6 could arrive as early as 2019 with more than 600 hp of power

The news is advanced by the German Autobild, a publication usually well informed about the ins and outs, in particular, of the German brands. Adding that the new Audi RS6 will appear, from the outset, only in the van variant, although the appetite of important markets, such as China or the USA, for saloons, could also lead Audi to reconsider and manufacture an RS6 hatchback.

As for the engine, it should be the same 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 which already equips models such as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo or the Lamborghini Urus. In the case of the RS6 Avant, it should debit something north of 600 hp, that is, 40-50 hp more than the predecessor — it should allow the new model to beat the 3.9 seconds announced by the current RS6 Avant.

Audi RS6 Performance also in the pipeline

There are also strong chances of appearing, later, an RS6 Performance version, equipped with a boosted version of the same engine, touting something like 650 hp and 800 Nm of torque.

Although still subject to confirmation, all these numbers end up finding support in the statements of the main responsible for the design of Audi, Marc Lichte, who has already confirmed that the future RS7, a model that will have a lot in common with the RS6, will arrive with two levels of power.

However, rumors also refer that the RS7 may come to rely on an innovative plug-in hybrid version, in which the V8 will gain the support of an electric motor.
