Jaguar I-PACE was World Car of the Year 2019 , an award given at the last New York Salon. It was only half a year ago, but time doesn't stand still. Today we bring you the list of candidates for 2020, not only for the World Car of the Year, but also for the other categories of the World Car Awards.
In the coming months, a panel of judges made up of representatives from some of the world's most prestigious publications will test and progressively eliminate the numerous candidates for the World Car of The Year (WCOTY), as well as the best cars in four categories:
- WORLD LUXURY CAR (Lux)
- WORLD PERFORMANCE CAR (Performance)
- WORLD URBAN CAR (Urban)
- WORLD CAR DESIGN OF THE YEAR (Design)
This year, the category, Green Car or Ecological Car, ceased to exist, but there were never so many hybrids and electrics in the eligible candidates.
Razão Automóvel is part of the panel of judges at the World Car Awards for the third consecutive year . Razão Automóvel has become one of the most widely read media in the field and with the greatest reach on social networks nationwide in recent years.
The World Car of The Year has been considered in recent years as the most relevant award in the automotive industry worldwide.
From the list of candidates that we present to you, there will be a dynamic contact in November with these in Los Angeles, United States of America. Later, in February 2020, they will be selected 10 semi-finalists, later reducing to just three finalists per category , which will be unveiled at the next Geneva Motor Show in March 2020.

The World Car of the Year, and the winners of the remaining World Car Awards categories, will be announced again at the New York Motor Show, which takes place in April 2020.
