JLR's new in-line six-cylinder also arrives on Range Rover

After making its debut under the hood of the Range Rover Sport a few months ago (initially only in the HST special edition), the new JLR inline six-cylinder is now coming to the market. Range Rover and brings with it a 48V mild hybrid system.

With 3.0 l of capacity, this engine offers 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque (In some markets there will be a version with 360 hp and 495 Nm of torque).

These numbers allow the British SUV to reach 0 to 96 km/h (60 mph) in 5.9s, reach a top speed of 225 km/h while offering fuel consumption of 9.3 l/100km and CO2 emissions of 212 g/ km (WLTP values ​​converted to NEDC2).

In addition to being associated with a 48 V MHEV (Mild-Hybrid Electric Vehicle) system, this engine has an electric compressor, a turbo twin scroll and an intelligent system of continuous variable valve lift.

In addition to having decided to offer a new engine to the Range Rover, Land Rover took the opportunity to update the range of its largest SUV. Thus, the Range Rover now has a new smartphone pack that offers the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems as standard across the range.

Inside, with the exception of the new smartphone pack, everything remains the same. The remaining innovations are related to the lighting system which, in addition to being able to turn off some LEDs so that the light beam does not reflect on traffic signals dazzling the driver, now offers the "Tourist Mode" which adjusts the beam of light as we travel in a country where you drive left or right.
