One of the few "jeeps" still in existence, the Toyota Land Cruiser sees the current generation, launched in the distant year of 2009, being updated. What news does the Land Cruiser 2020 bring?
2.8 Stronger Turbo Diesel
The main highlight is the 2.8 Turbo Diesel engine that saw its numbers grow significantly. The four-cylinder block delivers 27 hp and 50 Nm more than hitherto, with maximum power set at 204 hp available between 3000-3400 rpm, and maximum torque set at 500 Nm available between at 1600-2800 rpm.
Not only is it stronger, it also announces lower consumption and CO2 emissions of, respectively, 7.0 l/100 km (-0.7 l) and 192 g/km (-18 g). Contributing to these numbers is an added Stop & Start system.
The 2.8 Turbo Diesel is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, with the increased numbers also favoring performance. The Toyota Land Cruiser 2020 (Prado or Land Cruiser Prado in other markets) is now performing 0-100 km/h in 9.9s — an expressive 3.0s less than its predecessor — while the top speed remains at 175 km/h.

Jumping into its interior, the Land Cruiser 2020 received a new multimedia system, faster and with a more responsive touchscreen, says Toyota. The new system also offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Black Pack
The Toyota Land Cruiser 2020 also gets a special version called Black Pack (in the images). It is distinguished on the outside with specific stylistic elements such as the black chrome grille, the same tone that can be found in the fog lamp and door frames, in addition to coming with clear rear optics.
