Cold Start. Porsche Taycan Turbo S or McLaren P1: which or faster in a drag race?

Anonim

We already knew that electric cars are one of the best “weapons” for a drag race, but does that mean that a Porsche Taycan Turbo S can face a super sports car like the McLaren P1 in a race like this?

To find out, Tiff Needell pitted the two models face to face in yet another video from her YouTube channel Lovecars. On the side of the McLaren P1 we have a 3.8 l, twin-turbo V8 aided by an electric motor.

The end result is a maximum combined power of 916 hp and 900 Nm which propel the P1 to 100 km/h in 2.8s and up to 350 km/h of top speed. The Porsche Taycan Turbo S responds to these numbers with two electric motors that offer it 761 hp and 1050 Nm of torque.

These numbers allow “pushing” the 2370 kg of the German model up to 260 km/h and allow a time from 0 to 100 km/h of… identical 2.8s. That said, is the Porsche Taycan Turbo S up to the challenge? We leave you the video for you to find out.
