The new supercar will take the place of the now-defunct Sports Series (the end of this designation launched in 2015 with the 570S comes later this year with the limited-production 620R) and will be McLaren's first “affordable” hybrid supercar.
If you remember, the two hybrid supersports that McLaren has already had in its history — the P1, launched in 2013, and the new Speedtail — are both part of the Ultimate Series, a range that encompasses its most expensive, fastest and most exotic. models.
What do we already know?
For a start, we know that McLaren's new hybrid supercar will be positioned in the British brand's range between the GT and the 720S.

Another piece of information that we already have about this new super sports car is that associated with the hybrid system it will have an entirely new V6 engine. So far, McLaren has not released any technical data about this engine.
Finally, confirmed is the fact that the new hybrid super sports car from McLaren will be able to cover a few kilometers in 100% electric mode, which practically confirms that this will be a plug-in hybrid.
