Before the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S 4MATIC+ becoming the fastest production SUV on the Nürburgring, the record belonged to Alfa Romeo, which with the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, equipped with a 2.9l V6 engine with 510hp capable of delivering 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8s and reaching the top speed of 283 km/h, it had covered “green hell” in 7min51.7s.

Now it was Mercedes-AMG's turn to claim the title of fastest SUV on the German circuit and for that it had the brand's development engineer, Markus Hofbauer, at the controls of the GLC 63 S 4MATIC+.
