With the suggestive name of Skoda Sunroq , the study now released is the fifth prepared by a class of 23 students at Skoda Vocational School, in the Czech Republic, based on the latest crossover by Mladá Boleslav's builder, the Karoq.
The project was part of a broader initiative, which has given rise to several studies, including Citijet, Funstar, Atero and Element (see gallery).
In the case of the Sunroq, students opted to remove the roof, keeping, however, the four doors and redoing the tailgate — not least because, in the closed model, the gate is joined to the roof.

The Sunroq uses the four-cylinder 1.5 l TSI 150 hp we can find in the Karoq, allowing the prototype to accelerate, according to Skoda, from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4s, in addition to guaranteeing an advertised top speed of 195 km/h — values close to those achieved by Karoq.

student member of the class that created the Skoda SunroqAt the beginning, we had the opportunity to talk to Skoda professionals, and although it wasn't exactly easy, it was very constructive. What was the most important lesson we learned? It was, without a doubt, the art of reasoning, which will certainly be very important in the future.
