Ford Ranger is the most successful pick-up truck in Europe, with 2019 having been its best year ever, selling 52 500 units (127 units in Portugal). It also won the international trophy for “Pick-Up of the Year 2020”. As if to celebrate this success, a special and limited series of the pick-up will arrive at the end of the summer, the Ford Ranger Thunder.
Limited to 4,500 copies in Europe , the Ford Ranger Thunder derives from the Wildtrack version — exclusively with the double cab — but stands out for its unique styling and the extra offer of equipment, previously optional.
On the outside, the Sea Grey, exclusive 18″ alloy wheels in black, as well as Ebony Black finishes on the front grille, rear bumpers, underguards, fog lamp frames, sports loading platform and handles are highlighted. doors.
Also on the outside, in addition to the Thunder emblems with a three-dimensional effect — front doors and tailgate — we can see red inserts on the grille and loading platform. LED headlamps (standard) and taillights also come with darkened bezels.

The cargo box, in addition to introducing a divider, has a specific coating and a Black Mountain Top enamel cover. According to Ford, these are two options with a lot of demand by Ranger customers.
Moving on to the interior, we have seats in Ebony leather with the Thunder logo embroidered in red, a tone also used in the seams on the steering wheel, seats, instrument panel and main points of contact throughout the cabin. The door sills are also exclusive, illuminated in red.
10 speeds
The Ford Ranger Thunder is equipped with the same 2.0 EcoBlue (Diesel) with sequential turbos of 213 hp and 500 Nm and the 10-speed automatic transmission found in Ranger Raptor and Ranger Wildtrack. Traction is, of course, on all four wheels. Ford announces consumption and CO2 emissions from 9.1 l/100km and 239 g/km (WLTP).
Orders will open soon, but we still don't know how much this special limited edition Thunder will cost, with prices to be announced closer to the date of sale.
