CUPRA lets you see the Born tram ahead of time

Anonim

Closer and closer to its final revelation (the presentation is already on the 25th of May), the CUPRA Born , the first 100% electric model of the Spanish brand, was seen before its time.

The “guilt” was from a video in which CUPRA's Design Director, Jorge Diez, presents the distinctive features of the new model. In this one, in addition to seeing in detail some of these features, we could also see the final shape of Born.

This, as you'd expect, doesn't differ much from the one anticipated by the prototype and by the spy photos we've also published of the 100% electric CUPRA model.

The proximity to the Volkswagen ID.3 “cousin” is clear when we look at its profile, but the front has a distinct and more aggressive design, while the rear also reveals its own identity, highlighting a light strip across its entire width and even the presence of a rear diffuser.

The opinion of your "creator"

As we said, the teaser video in which CUPRA ended up revealing the Born served to its “creator” to let us know the five “key points” of the design of the electric model of the Spanish brand.

According to Jorge Diez, for the CUPRA design team, the creation of Born “has been a dream come true”. For the design director of SEAT and CUPRA. the long wheelbase (to accommodate the batteries) “allowed us to create a design that was totally focused on the occupants, with a very spacious cabin”.

In addition, Jorge Diez highlighted the lead of CUPRA Born, recalling: “The headlights are identified as a person's face, so we tilted them a little more than usual, to express this character, this determination to know what we want and go ahead”.

Finally, Jorge Diez not only spoke about the rear luminous signature but also the connection to the city of Barcelona, summarizing the Born's look as follows: “The electric world doesn't have to be boring, and the CUPRA Born is the proof”.
