Cold Start. "Dwarf cars": American classics to scale

Anonim

If you've always liked American classics, but your garage has room for little more than a Fiat 500, the “Dwarf cars” (dwarf cars) created by Ernie Adams could be the solution.

Scale versions of classic North American models, these are handcrafted by Ernie Adams. The first, a replica of a 1928 Chevrolet, was born in 1965 and was created from the parts of nine refrigerators.

Since then Ernie Adams has created several other “Dwarf cars” — he even created a museum — that can ride on the road.

Next to a modern pick-up, the difference in dimensions is evident.

His most recent creation is a replica of a 1949 Mercury. Created entirely by hand (from the chassis to the bodywork, including the interior) this example has the mechanics of a 1982 Toyota Starlet.

With impressive (and even enviable) finishing quality, these replicas aren't for sale, with Ernie Adams claiming he's already turned down a $450,000 (about €378,000) offer for Mercury.
