Skoda wins "Camouflage of the Year" award for new Skoda Octavia 2013

The boys at Skoda must be fed up with laughing after they've managed to deceive this world and the next. Remember last week we published an article with two videos that showed the new Skoda Octavia 2013 without camouflage? So forget about it, because after all the cars were more flamboyant than ever.

In fact, those two videos (not very high quality) didn't show the true details of the next generation of Octavia, so we were deluded by what we saw. But with the new images that appeared on the carscoop blog, we quickly realized that it was nothing more than an excellent camouflage technique from Skoda. Congratulations on Skoda creativity!

The camouflage is all there, but it's so well done, that for a moment it left all Czech walking enthusiasts head over heels for not seeing major aesthetic improvements in the new Octavia. And if the expectation was already high, after that it's almost impossible to control such anxiety to see what's next. Skoda, it's good that they don't disappoint, because they've just set the bar high...

However, not everything in the other article was wrong: The new Skoda Octavia will share with the new Audi A3, Seat Leon and Volkswagen Golf the famous MQB platform, which means that despite seeing its size increase it will be lighter than the previous generation. As for powertrains, there are some rumors that the new Octavia will be inspired by the options available for the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf.

Skoda has already confirmed that it will unveil, in November, the third generation of the Octavia, however, it will only be in March that it will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Until then, we can only wait for more “unofficial” news…
