Staying true to his quirky method of communication, Elon Musk turned to Twitter to reveal a few more details about the long-awaited Tesla Roadster.

As you can read in the tweet shared by the (again) second richest man in the world (according to Forbes), the engineering work around the new Roadster should be finished later this year.

As for the production, this should start in 2022. Even so, Elon Musk advances that there should be a prototype in the summer and that this one can already be carried out.

Finally, the owner of Tesla also said that advances in the technology of three electric motors (introduced by the Model S and Model X Plaid) and batteries (the new 4680) were crucial for the Roadster project.

Go fly?

Still in the "Twitter kingdom of Elon Musk", there were some statements by the eccentric millionaire that we do not know to what extent can (or should) be taken seriously.

When asked what could differentiate the Model S Plaid+'s already impressive performances from those of the future Tesla Roadster, Elon Musk said: "The new Roadster is partly a rocket."

In other tweets in the past, the topic of the rockets in the new Tesla Roadster was mentioned several times by Musk in response to some internet users who asked him if it could fly. According to Musk, it will be able to fly "a little".

Already in a more serious tone to begin with, the owner of Tesla wrote: “I'm not saying that the next-gen Roadster's special update package 'will' definitely allow it to fly short jumps, but maybe… It's certainly possible. There is only the issue of security. Rocket technology applied to a car opens up revolutionary possibilities.”
