Who would have thought that a modest Peugeot 406 could be a movie star? But that's what happened when the French film “Taxi”, by director Luc Besson, premiered in 1998 — not forgetting the intense pursuit of a 406 to an M5 (E34) in the film Ronin, which premiered in the same year.
In the taxi world, the 406 has become the equivalent of the Batmobile. Well, at least that's the idea we got after seeing the “artilling” that the saloon undergoes as one of the most unlikely machines to chase down the “bad guys”.
This is not the Peugeot 406 from the movie, but a replica. Not from the original movie, but from its sequel, “Taxi 2” (2000), where the 406 already appears in a re-styled version, as in the film it looks even more exuberant — there are five movies in total, and in the most recent sequels , it is the Peugeot 407 that takes the lead.

The owner highlights other modifications and repairs. The engine carried new segments, as well as valve stem seals, and timing and alternator belts. The ECU has been reprogrammed, the exhaust changed — the muffler comes from… a Honda SBR1000RR — and the wheels are TSW 16″, just like in the movie. Part of the suspension also had to be replaced, including bushings.
Finally, its owner highlights the consumption on the highway — just 7.2 l/100 km if we don't overuse the accelerator and 9-10 l/100 km in cities.
