Taycan. The first official specifications of the 100% electric Porsche

Anonim

The numbers and performances that will appear on the technical sheet of Porsche's first 100% electric super sports car, whose name has since changed from Mission E to Taycan, have been officially released. They promise to remain overwhelming in the production version.

According to the Stuttgart brand, the Porsche Taycan will have two electric motors — one on the front axle and the other on the rear axle — operating permanently, guaranteeing a power of 600 hp.

Supplying power to these two engines will be a high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack, capable of ensuring autonomy in the order of 500 kilometers. Although the constructor does not mention which measurement cycle — NEDC or WLTP — it used to calculate this number.

15 minutes to reset about 80% of the battery

Also according to Porsche, once the energy in the batteries runs out, the Taycan will only need about 15 minutes connected to the socket, at specific 800V charging stations, to be able to do about 400 kilometers more. The manufacturer also promises that the electric sports car will use the CCS (Combined Charging System) charging system standard in Europe and the USA, with the units destined for Japan being equally adapted to the systems in use in that country.

Moreover, although it is a 100% electric vehicle, Porsche also ensures that the Taycan will not cease to be a true Porsche, also in terms of performance and driving sensations. With the manufacturer announcing that the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will happen in “a lot less” than 3.5 seconds , while the start from 0 to 200 km/h will happen in less than 12 seconds.

Porsche hopes to sell 20,000 a year

In the long statement now released, Porsche still unveils a series of interesting numbers, relating to the Porsche Taycan. In particular, it expects to sell around 20 thousand units of what will be its first 100% electric model. That's about two-thirds of the total number of 911 units it currently delivers per year.

So far a team of 40 specialists has manufactured “a three-digit number” of Porsche Taycan prototypes, 21 of which have since been shipped, fully camouflaged, to West South Africa, where around 60 employees are responsible for development. of the model, they have already covered more than 40 thousand kilometers with the car.

Until the final stage of development, Porsche believes that “millions of kilometers” will be realized with the Taycan development prototypes, in order to reduce the margin of potential problems that could arise with the final product.
