Launched in 2018, the update of the BMW 8 Series is already being prepared — LCI in BMW or Life Cycle Impulse language — as you can see in these spy photos (in national exclusive by Razão Automóvel) of two 8 Series Gran Coupé (launched in 2019) ).
The first thing to note is that, despite the camouflage of the test model, the double kidney grille doesn't look like it's going to grow compared to the current model.
After the massive double kidneys of the 4 Series and the M3 and M4, it seems that BMW has not let itself be tempted to apply the same visual recipe to one of its tops of the range. The Series 8's double kidney should maintain the horizontal and slimmer development of the current model.
As you can see, the camouflaged areas of the test model are concentrated in the front and rear of the vehicle, which means that the visual changes made must be fixed on the bumpers and optics (or just in their filling).
And more?
It is expected that the interior will also receive slight changes, which should focus on coatings and tones, but the emphasis should be on the “digital”, in other words, at the level of the infotainment software.

At the moment, nothing is known about the powertrains, although, somewhat predictably, they can be updated to comply with the latest and most demanding emission standards.
Although the updated BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe has already been picked up in street tests, its commercialization is not expected until the beginning of next year.
