Originally released in 1992, the Volkswagen Golf Variant it already has six generations and the most recent of them all now arrives in Portugal, a few months after being revealed to the world.
At 4.63 m long, the new Golf Variant is 34.9 cm longer than the five-door variant and has grown by 6.6 cm compared to its predecessor. As for the luggage capacity, the German van offers 611 liters of capacity (six liters more than in the previous generation).
Finally, with a longer wheelbase (2686 mm, 66 mm more than before and 50 mm longer than the car) in this new generation the Golf Variant now offers even more space on board (the legroom in the seats from 903 mm to 941 mm).
How much does it cost?
In total, the new Volkswagen Golf Variant will be available in four equipment levels: Golf; Life; Style and R-Line. As standard, the Golf Variant has a digital instrument panel (the Digital Cockpit) with a 10” screen and the infotainment system “Composition” with an 8.25” screen. From the “Life” equipment level onwards, all Golf Variants have a navigation system with access to online mobile services at no additional cost.

As for engines, the new Volkswagen Golf Variant comes with three petrol options, two Diesel and three mild-hybrid. Starting with the gasoline offer, this starts with the 1.0 TSI with 110 hp, followed by the 1.5 TSI with 130 hp or 150 hp, and in all three cases these engines are coupled to a manual gearbox with six ratios.
The diesel offer is based on the 2.0 TDI with 115 hp or 150 hp. In the first case this is associated with a six-speed manual transmission while in the second the transmission is in charge of a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Finally, the mild-hybrid offer consists of 1.0 TSI of 110 hp, 1.5 TSI of 130 hp and 1.5 TSI of 150 hp associated with a mild-hybrid system of 48 V, in this case the three engines (which in this case become be designated eTSI) coupled to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
