Cold Start. The F40 is back. Or maybe not…

Anonim

Synonymous with one of the most extreme supersports in history, the F40 designation is back in the car world. The point is that it doesn't appear in a model of the Cavallino Rampante brand, but in a jeep of the Chinese brand BAIC (or Beijing).

The new F40 is nothing more than a renovation of the BAIC BJ40 (yes, this designation also “has an owner”), which had an identity crisis and decided to change its name. Under the hood does not appear a bi-turbo V8 but a four-cylinder with 2.3 l, 231 hp and 345 Nm.

Launched in 2013, the F40 is “brother” of another model that we talked about a while ago, the clone of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, also known as the BAIC BJ80.

Interestingly, in the past the F40 name was almost used by another model (the Volvo V40), but that's a story for another article.
