Volkswagen T-Cross arrives in April. All prices

The new Volkswagen T-Cross joins T-Roc, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace and Touareg to complete the German brand's SUV family. If you had doubts about the positioning of the T-Roc, the arrival of the T-Cross, based on Polo, could help to clarify that question.

As for the new T-Cross, it's smaller than the T-Roc — 4.11 m long against 4.23 m — but Volkswagen advertises ample space for occupants and luggage inside. The trunk has a minimum capacity of 385 l, increasing to 455 l, when making use of the 14 cm longitudinally sliding rear seats.

Engines

In this launch phase, the new T-Cross will be available with three engines, two petrol and one diesel (it arrives in Portugal in June), all of them supercharged via a turbocharger.

The two gasoline engines are defined by the three-cylinder 1.0 TSI at two power levels, 95 and 115 hp , while the only Diesel engine is recommended by the 1.6 TDI four-cylinder with 95 hp , with all of them already complying with the demanding Euro 6d-TEMP standard.

The new T-Cross is only available with front wheel drive, with the transmission varying according to the engines, which can be carried out through a a five-speed (95hp) or six-speed (105hp) manual gearbox or a seven-speed (105hp) dual-clutch gearbox.

Three levels of equipment

T-Cross, Life and Style are the three equipment levels available. The level T-Cross (base) is only associated with the 1.0 TSI of 95 hp and already comes with on-board computer, manual air conditioning, Composition Color radio, Bluetooth connectivity package, Front Assist with pedestrian protection system and Lane Assist.

Connect, a storage box under the passenger seat and 16-inch alloy wheels.

There is also an optional “Plus” package, which adds front and rear parking sensors, Discover Media navigation and automatic air conditioning.

Finally, the highest level style , adds LED headlights, Active info display, parking sensors and rear camera, Discover Media navigation, “Climatronic” air conditioning, electrically controlled mirrors and 17″ alloy wheels. It can be associated with all engines except the 1.0 TSI of 95 hp.

Prices

The prices listed below for the new T-Cross do not include administrative expenses or metallic paint. All T-Cross come with a 5-year or 100,000 km warranty.

*Prices for 1.6 TDI not yet finalized. This engine arrives in June.
