Jeep surprises with 6 pick-up trucks for Moab Easter Jeep Safari

Between April 13th and April 21st, the Moab region in Utah will once again host the Easter Jeep Safari . For the 53rd year, thousands of Jeep enthusiasts will flock to Moab to participate in a weekend packed with cross-terrain technical competitions.

As usual, Jeep prepared a series of prototypes that will be presented at that event. in all will be six the prototypes that the Jeep will take to Moab since they all have one thing in common: they are all pick-ups.

Among the Jeep prototypes for the Easter Jeep Safari we find a restomod, prototypes developed based on the new Jeep Gladiator (which debuts this year in Moab) and even Rubicon derivatives. Common to all prototypes is the use of a wide selection of Jeep Performance Parts, standard and prototypes, developed by Mopar.

This year's Safari will mark the debut of the long-awaited Jeep Gladiator against the backdrop of Moab and on demanding trails. To celebrate, we're introducing six fun vehicles of great capacities based on the Jeep pick-up concept that are sure to turn heads and delight spectators.

Jeep Wayout

Developed based on the new Gladiator, the Jeep Wayout arrives in Moab as a working prototype packed with equipment that allows it to further enhance off-road and adventure capabilities like a tent and roof awning or custom-made jerricans integrated into the side of the cargo box.

Painted in the new Gator Green color (which will be offered at the Jeep Gladiator), Wayout has a lift kit from Jeep Performance Parts, 17” wheels, 37” mud-terrain tires, and a Warn winch capable of towing fences. 5440 kg and even a snorkel. To cheer him up, we find a 3.6 V6 Pentastar coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Another of the prototypes developed based on Gladiator is the Flatbill Jeep . Developed with motocross practitioners in mind, Flatbill is fully equipped to transport motorcycles, even with specific ramps to facilitate loading and unloading.

At the level of all terrain capabilities, the Jeep Flatbill features a shorter front bumper and underguard plate, Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 front and rear axles, lift kit, bypass rear shock absorbers, 20” wheels and 40” tires. In terms of mechanics, it has the 3.6 V6 Pentastar and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep M-715 Five-Quarter

Fulfilling the tradition of taking restomods to the Easter Jeep Safari, this year the FCA group brand prepared the Jeep M-715 Five-Quarter . The name is a reference to the old Jeep pickup trucks (which were a ton and a quarter) and the prototype started its life as a 1968 M-175, mixing modern components with vintage components.

In terms of aesthetics, the M-715 Five-Quarter saw the plate used at the front replaced by carbon fiber, in addition, the original headlamps gave way to HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights and LED auxiliary lights. It also received the new Jeep Wrangler seats without headrests and a new shorter load box in aluminum and wood.

On the mechanical level, this restomod uses a “Hellcrate” 6.2 HEMI V8 with more than 700 hp and saw the leaf springs replaced by a suspension system of helicoidal springs. The M-715 Five-Quarter also received a Dynatrac Pro-rock 60 front axle, a Dynatrac Pro-rock 80 rear axle, 20″ wheels (with beadlock rim) and 40″ tires.

Developed based on Rubicon, the Jeep J6 was inspired by the Jeeps of the late 70s. With just two doors, this one is painted in Brilliant Blue in honor of the 1978 Jeep Honcho. In total, the J6 measures 5.10 m and has a wheelbase of about 3 m, which is the same value as the current 4-door Jeep Wrangler.

With a loading platform about 1.8 m long (30 cm more than Gladiator's), the Jeep J6 comes with a sports roll-bar that supports a set of four LED lights, 17” wheels and a kit of lift, all this is complemented by 37” tires and a triangular bar on the front bumper to install four additional lights.

Also in the aesthetic chapter, the Mopar grille on the outside and the leather seats and armrests and the personalized steering wheel with the classic Jeep emblem on the inside are highlighted. In mechanical terms, the 3.6 used by this prototype saw its performances improved thanks to the double cat-back exhaust from Jeep Performance Parts and an air intake from Mopar.

Inspired by the iconic CJ Scrambler and based on Gladiator, the Jeep JT Scrambler it is painted in a color scheme that mixes Metallic Punk’N Orange with white and also has a rollbar equipped with LED lights that illuminate the cargo box.

Speaking of LED lights, JT Scrambler also has two lights placed on top of the rollbar and two on the A-pillars. It features 17" wheels, a lifting kit and 37" tires, as well as, of course, various underbody and chassis guards.

As for mechanics, JT Scrambler saw the power of its 3.6 l rise thanks to an air intake from Mopar and a cat-back exhaust also from Mopar.

Finally, Jeep will bring the prototype to Moab Easter Jeep Safari Jeep Gladiator Gravity . Like most of the prototypes that the American brand will take to the event this year, this one is also based on the Gladiator pick-up, the difference is that in this case the prototype does not “deny” its origins and uses the name of the new pick -up.

Developed based on the theme of climbing, Gladiator Gravity presents itself at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari with a lifting kit, 17” wheels, 35” tires, lower side protections in high-strength steel, Mopar grille, LED lights 7″ and also LED projectors mounted on the A pillars.

Inside, we find leather seats and various Mopar accessories such as MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) storage bags and all-weather mats with a system that drains water and dirt. On a mechanical level, Gladiator Gravity saw power and torque increase thanks to a Mopar air intake and a cat-back exhaust.
