Based on the EMP2 platform (the same as the Peugeot 3008), the Citroën C5 Aircross arrives in Portugal about two years after it was presented (2017) — it began by being marketed in China.
The new C5 Aircross joins the C3 Aircross in Citroën's SUV offer and despite the delay in reaching the market, the Gallic brand has great ambitions for its new model in the national market. Citroën wants the C5 Aircross to reach the Top 3 in the segment that is led (with some advantage) by the “eternal” Nissan Qashqai.
To achieve this, the Citroën C5 Aircross bets heavily on comfort. For this, the C5 Aircross has the program Citroën Advanced Comfort® , where we highlight the new suspensions of progressive hydraulic stops and the new Advanced Comfort seats.
Engines
To liven up the C5 Aircross we find two gasoline engines and two Diesel engines. Among the gasoline offer, you can choose the 1.2 131 hp PureTech and six-speed manual gearbox or by the 1.6 PureTech 181 hp which is always associated with the eight-speed automatic transmission.

Among Diesels, the offer is based on 1.5 BlueHDI 131 hp which can be associated with the six-speed manual transmission or the eight-speed automatic transmission. Finally, and only available on request, we find the 2.0 BlueHDI of 178 hp equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the price of this engine having not been disclosed.
By the end of 2019, the arrival of the C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid is expected, which should offer an autonomy of 60 km in electric mode.
choice is not lacking
To ensure that the C5 Aircross stands out from the competition, Citroën decided to invest heavily in personalization. So, are available 30 exterior combinations — seven colors that can be combined with the Perla Nera black roof, plus three color packs — plus five indoor environments.
Regarding equipment levels, the C5 Aircross has three levels: Live, Feel and Shine . The Live and Feel tier can be associated with all engines with the exception of the 1.6 PureTech. Shine is available in all engines, and the Shine 19 version is also available, which cannot be associated with the 1.2 PureTech engine.
Prices
Now available in Portugal, the prices of the Citroën C5 Aircross start at the 27 315 euros for the Live version equipped with the 1.2 PureTech engine and go up to 40,782 euros ordered by the Shine 19 version equipped with the 1.5 BlueHDI engine and eight-speed automatic transmission.
